Application processing times

Blog2

In the past few days, many of our students were asking us about the availability of time to apply for a particular semester in any of the countries that we work with. To give you clarity so you could plan your application process, we give below general guidelines for application timelines, country-wise.

USA – Deadlines for most universities are over for Spring 2018 intake. If you wish to apply for Fall 2018 that starts in August/Sept., please apply before end November if you want to be considered for Financial aid. However, if you are not keen on aid, do apply at the earliest, but no later than end February for proper consideration of your applications.

Canada – You can apply only for Fall 2018 intake now since the deadlines for Spring are over long back. Apply before end December, since the processing time is longer for Canadian universities and the visa process takes quite some time!

Remember that while GRE is not mandatory for most Canadian universities, good and top-tier universities always prefer applicants who have good GRE score. And, for some typical programs, GRE score may be required by most universities. Please check with us before you plan to apply for Canada. We have wonderful packages to help you with the total Canadian process.

Australia and New Zealand – In Australian universities, you could apply for February 2018 now, as applications are closed for November intake.  Visa processing time is slightly longer nowadays. Please apply as soon as possible, without delaying further.

Germany – The whole process takes longer and the admission requirements are quite cumbersome. You would need an A1/A2 (min.) German language certification, completion of degree by the time of applying and a few other requirements. Importantly, getting a visa slot and the actual visa will take about 3 months minimum time.  So, if you wish to apply for next Winter intake, starting in September/October 2018, this is the right time. Don’t delay any further. We will be glad to assist you with shortlisting of right German universities, editing of documents, application processing and visa guidance – in other words, every step of the way.

Wish you all a very Happy and joyful Vijaya Dasami (Dasara)

Want to study in Australia? – Here is some important information!

a (2)

Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP), Australia has issued a strong warning and guidelines to students and agents who are promoting overseas education in Australia. DIBP is concerned mainly with the increase of fraudulent loan letters and other financial documents when students apply for the visa.

It has become the responsibility of agents sending students to Australia, to provide a genuine summary of student’s access to funds – amount of funds available, the bank/source where are funds are available and the source of funds. Now, this has become a mandatory requirement of Australian High Commission (AHC) when they process student visas.

Where evidence of funds is required, the applicant has to provide one of the following:

1) Evidence of funds for 12 months – evidence of funds to cover travel to Australia, 12 months’ living costs for themselves and accompanying family members, tuition fees and schooling costs for school aged children.

The following types of funds are acceptable evidence of financial capacity:

  1. a) money deposit with a financial institution;
  2. b) loan with a financial institution;
  3. c) government loans;
  4. d) scholarship or financial support.

2) Evidence of annual income – the student can provide evidence of personal income of their parents or spouse / de facto partner of at least AUD$60,000. The parents or spouse / de facto partner cannot be traveling with the student to Australia. The evidence must be in the form of official government documentation, such as a tax assessment.

3) Evidence of genuine access to funds. This will be determined by the source, type of funds and the financial institution providing such evidence.

It is very important to note that the financial institution is an approved one by Reserve Bank of India.

In case if the AHC suspects that a particular document was issued fraudulently, this information will be reported to RBI. Unless the matter is investigated and cleared, a visa will not be issued.

At Manhattan Review, we advise all our students to submit only genuine documents so the admission and visa process is completed successfully.

And, we make sure that you reach Australia without any complications!

Wish you all the best,

Team Manhattan

Awesome Australia

Awesome Australia

Australia’s international student enrolment hit a new high in 2016 to reach a total of 554,179 for the year. The latest data from the Australian Department of Education and Training reports this as a 10.9% year-over-year increase from 2015, against average annual growth of 6.5% per year over the past decade.

More than four out of every ten of those students (43%) were enrolled in Australian higher education, which saw overall growth of 13% for the year. The next-largest sectors were vocational education and training (VET), with 26% of all enrolment and nearly 12% growth for the year, and English Language Intensive Courses for Overseas Students (ELICOS) which accounted for 21% of all foreign students and 4% growth.

International education exports hit a record AUS$21.8 billion, making it Australia’s third largest export after iron ore and coal.

In 2016, India has sent more than 78,000 students to Australia which is approx. 9% increase over 2015. Now, in 2017, the figures are expected to ‘hit the roof’, since many students are looking towards Australia for higher education, given the uncertainty in USA.

Nine out of ten students (89%) say they are “satisfied” or “very satisfied” with their experience of living and studying in Australia.

Nearly three quarters (74%) said that Australia was their first choice or overseas study with most indicating the that reputation of Australian education and personal safety and security were among the major factors in their choice.

Best of all, Australia caters to all levels of students – both academic and financial – and the decision-making process on applications is very fast.
